What's New with SensorHub

See the latest SensorHub updates.

Enhanced SensorHub
Capabilities

SensorHub now includes many new features. It has an updated look and feel, including new icons and a modernized interface. The device framework provides the ability for users to easily maintain devices and provides the ability to add or associate dynamic properties to a device. It can also automatically alert administrators when sensors go offline and allow them to view the state of sensors. On the map, users can roll over information for each sensor, "show track" information for a mobile device, and view additional map details and zoom levels via the "Google Satellite Layer". In addition, new camera controls allow for scheduling, browsing, and recording of live video clips.

SensorHub Features

The SensorHub system is built on the concept of maximizing the use of open standards, which enables maximum connectivity and compatibility with the ever-growing IoT/device ecosystem that enables us to describe and understand the environments in which we live. Sensor data is collected from devices using the OGC SensorThings specification and may be combined with other standards to improve our situational awareness and decision making.

Updated Look and Feel

Including new map icons to easily distinguish between various sensors. Coupled with a new and improved, easy to use interface.

Device Framework

Provides the ability for users to easily maintain devices by allowing them to update and control a device's location, name, description and operational state. Provides the ability to easily add or associate dynamic properties to a device (e.g., Construction site manager).
Ability to automatically alert administrators when sensors go offline.

Map

Ability to display data stream rollover information for each sensor directly on the map. "Show Track" information for a mobile device. Includes visible start and end points as well as rollover way-points periodically presented along each track. Allows administrators to quickly view the current state of sensors (online vs offline). Ability to view additional map detail and zoom levels via the "Google Satellite Layer".

Camera Controls

Ability to maintain and schedule captured images. New interface to allow users to browse captured images, record live video clips and use PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) controls.

Output via Open Standards

Sensor devices are connected and data is made available using the OGC open standard, SensorThings.

Lightweight with Supreme Portability

Can be deployed on any device running Java, from an inexpensive Raspberry Pi to an Android phone to a high-performance server.

Secure

Authenticates the sensor and protects the privacy and integrity of the exchanged data, including the ability to store data on encrypted storage.

User Management

Effectively and efficiently manage user profiles and permissions from the interface.

Configurable

Pre-configured drivers for specific platforms allow for the discovery and access of sensors from their common sensor systems. Custom drivers can be uploaded using the interface, without requiring software updates to the SensorHub.

Tasking/Chain Tasking

Sensors can be tasked, and rules can be created to have one sensor task another sensor if a condition is met.

Alerting

Rules can be established and anytime a rule is met, notifications can be sent via email, SMS, etc. Ability to automatically alert administrators when sensors go offline.

Real-time / Historical Data

Real-time data can be viewed directly from the interface in easy-to-understand widgets ( i.e., temperature gauge, speedometer, etc.). Historical data can be viewed directly from the interface in easy-to-understand charts.

Communications Support

Plug SensorHub into your existing communications infrastructure (data radios, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, cellular networks, etc.)
